I chose my username,
notionist, believing that I had coined a term, only to find out that I had been beaten to it:
notionist [NO-shuh-nist], n. One whose opinions are ungrounded notions. [R.] --Bp. Hopkins. Webster's Revised Unabridged Dictionary, © 1996, 1998 MICRA, Inc.
For the purpose of this, my journal, I choose my own redefinition:
notionist [NO-shuh-nist], n. A lover of ideas.
Simple as that. A lover of ideas, grounded or not. A seeker. One who chases hard after truth, while shunning Truth. One who lives for the thrill of never having just one answer. One who takes comfort in this world’s one certainty: that nothing is certain.
